For the moment temptation hits. Say “Hey Siri, lock my phone,” and every app locks until someone you trust lets you back in.
You locked your phone and asked for help. Sarah or Mike can unlock it.

Say “Hey Siri, lock my phone in Way Out,” triple-tap the back of your phone, or hold the button. Every app locks at once, even the one you were in.
Phone and Messages keep workingYou locked your phone and asked for help. Sarah or Mike can unlock it.
The people you picked get a text with your number and a private link. They don't need the app or an account.
We never say which app or siteYour ally calls, you talk, and they unlock when you both think it's time. The first to tap “I'm on it” lets the others know.
Allies can send a word with the unlockWhen your ally taps Unlock, every app comes back. If no one does, the safety timer you chose gives your phone back by itself.
30 min, 1 hour, 2 hours or 4 hoursSetup makes you try each one, so your hands know what to do when the moment comes.
“Two are better than one… If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.”

Most accountability tools tell your friends what happened after it's over. Way Out works in the moment you reach for it. You ask for help, someone you trust answers, and you get through it together.
It's built for people who already have a small group, a sponsor, a mentor or a friend who's in it with them, and who want that person one tap away.
The lock runs on your phone through Apple's Screen Time system. Which apps you use never leaves your device.
Allies are told one thing: you locked your phone and asked for help. Nothing about what or where.
If Way Out's access gets turned off, your allies get a text, so the safety net stays honest.
No. That's the point. An ally can end a lock early, and the safety timer ends it if no one does. You pick the timer during setup, and it can't be shortened while you're locked.
Your phone unlocks itself when the safety timer runs out. Phone and Messages work the whole time, and emergency calls are never blocked.
No. Allies accept a short invite on the web, then get a text with a link whenever you lock. They can reply STOP at any time.
No. Only you can start a lock. Allies can only help you out of one.
Almost nothing. We know when a lock starts and ends and who unlocked it. We never see which apps you use or what's on your screen.
